Teresa Sapey is an Italian architect and designer.
She graduated in architecture at the Polytechnic of Turin in 1985 and completed her studies in Paris, where she obtained a degree in Fine Arts at the Parson School of Design and a Master in La Villette. In 1990 she moved to Madrid, where she founded her own studio. He has chaired a chair at the European Institute of Design in Madrid and is a guest professor at several international universities (McGill Montreal University, Carleton Universtity of Otawa, the University of Waterloo in Toronto, and the Domus Academy in Milan).
Her work has been recognized through numerous awards around the world, including: AD Award, Wallpaper Award, “Women Together” Award awarded by the European Union, the honorable title of Grand Officer of the Order of the Star of Italy commanded by the Italian Government, and Archiproducts 2022 award.
The architect has carried out numerous projects including various luxury bespoke homes (Monaco, Gstaad, Marbella, Palma de Mallorca, New York, Venice); iconic lifestyle hotels for brands such as Room Mate, Intercontinental, and Nhow; and has rethought the ‘non-urban places by activating them through interventions such as that of the parking lot of the Hotel Puerta de America or the design of some of the Christmas lights for the City of Madrd.
Sapey has also collaborated with numerous design brands including Vondom, Isimar, Coordonne and Diabla. “My goal is to work with space and material in such a way as to create and convey indelible emotions. It is also essential to bring added value to users, the context, the customer”.
